Evergreen Home for Special Care, since 1969, has been a privately owned continuous care provider, licenced by the Department of Health, serving clients regardless of age, sex, race, creed, and social status. Since 1994, Evergreen has been awarded accreditation based on meeting the national standards established by Accreditation Canada. The facility, which is licensed to provide 24-hour nursing coverage, is comprised of a Childrens' Centre for 20 children plus one respite bed and a Seniors' Centre consisting of 97 residents plus one respite bed. All residents receive multi-disiplinary care based on an holistic approach to ensure physical, mental and spiritual well being while recognizing the right to individuality, respect and dignity.
